Wendy
Director Of Services
I'm Wendy O’Sullivan, the proud Founder and Director of Services for the amazing charity, Lizard C.H.I.L.D. Trust (Community Help Improving Learning & Development - LCT). With over 35 years of experience in Early Years, I absolutely love witnessing the joy of children learning and growing! It's truly exhilarating to see them discover new things, share experiences, and develop their own unique personalities!

Our Story
Established in 1999, our charity is a vibrant community initiative dedicated to uplifting the Helston and Lizard area! We proudly launched with fantastic services like a family learning, a toy library, and a full-day nursery that offers wraparound care and holiday clubs for families. Our mission is to empower parents as they return to work while partnering with them to give their children the best possible start in life. Did you know that a baby's brain develops 90% by the age of 5? It's an incredible journey, and we’re here to support parents in navigating the rewarding, yet challenging, role of raising their little ones!
We are thrilled to continue providing an essential service for families through our fantastic day nursery at the Elliot Buildings in St. Michael's School, Helston! Led by the incredible Sarah Arthur, our dedicated Nursery Manager, and her Deputies, Judith & Yvonne who are committed to creating a safe and nurturing environment where every child can learn and grow. We can't wait to help your little ones embark on their exciting journey of discovery! It's a true honor to partner with you in giving your child the best start possible during these years!
We provide childcare for 51 weeks a year, one week off for Christmas, and hours from 800 AM to 6:00 PM,
Stacey, our amazing Community Projects Worker, brings a fun and creative flair to our diverse program that supports local families! Just recently, we had the wonderful Librarian Kerry join us to read to the children, and we even take exciting walks to the library for story time! We're thrilled to be collaborating with "Make it Better" to provide fantastic art sessions that boost the well-being of our participants. Plus, we are here to lend a helping hand when the community faces tough times or unexpected bills with our "Cost of Living Fund" and "Surviving Winter Fund". Our vibrant partnerships with local groups empower us to combine our strengths and resources, ensuring we uplift the most vulnerable members of our community!
