Community Projects........

Provides a fun environment for members of the community, to learn and grow together by working in partnership with funders, investors and local organisations.

We can offer an alternative day out at a low cost to give a fully inclusive service.

I’m Jody I’ve been volunteering and working at the Trust for the last 8 years. Community Project Manager is an evolving role, and is so due to the ever changing social environment. If you would like to contact me with any project ideas please call 01326 569927 or email on

I’m Jenny, I’ve worked for LCT since 2005. I support Jody in researching and running projects in Helston and the Lizard area, reaching out to all members of the community.

Weeth Walled Garden Allotment is situated on the National Trust Penrose Estate. It has been run and maintained by Mustard Seed in recent years. LCT and Mustard Seed have joined forces to develop the space further.

Our visions are:

To create an outside learning and growing space that is environmentally and socially friendly, reaching and involving as many community groups in the TR12/TR13 area as possible.

What have we done so far?

  • We launched our first project by providing a family cookout and clearing day.

  • We invited Year 2 pupils from St. Michael’s School to come and explore the natural habitats of animals and plants at the walled garden. This enhanced their learning and underpinned their curriculum.

  • We are currently working with ActivePlus’s Who Dares Works project to create a lasting change in the community.

  • Volunteers from RNAS Culdrose came down and laid the foundations of our green classroom and created our fire-pit.

What of the future?

We will continue to forge ahead with clearing and learning days, welcoming all members of the community, whatever their age and expertise.

We provide the nourishment for your body and your soul. You provide your time and energy!

We offer the children the chance to not only learn skills on the pitch but to understand the “beautiful game” from a tactics and team management view.

Colour Bomb Wars

Teams made up of friends and families colour their opponents through the medium of missiles (water balloons) filled with paint.  Be prepared to get messy!

Den Building and Campfire experiences

We have access to several outdoor areas where we challenge the children and their families to erect their own shelters and compete to ’fire up’ and cook their own food.
